Guard Dog or Protection Dog?

One of the surprising things I learned recently was when we were shopping for a new family dog. We wanted a faithful companion, for sure. One that was good with the kids. But we also wanted some security as we live in an urban area where crime is always a threat. So to my surprise, a little research revealed that most experts agree that the Doberman Pinscher was rated the best all-around family/security dog. Even more remarkable was the fact that this fearsome breed of dog is great with children. And security? Have you ever walked down the street past some coming your way walking his Doberman?? Say no more!
