OK Tips On Black And White Photography

Have you ever thought about wanting to do a certain hobby, but were too intimidated to start it? I have seen many different creative crafts and skills that I think would be fun to learn how to do, but fear of not being able to do it holds me back. I have completed some community education classes on different sewing techniques, but these were to enhance skills that I already had. It took my friend to help me face the challenge of learning something new.
 
My friend and I were looking through the community education classes that were being offered for the winter. There was a class for black and white photography. This is something that I have been interested in for several years. I loved looking at the photographs that professionals take in color, but I am always drawn to the black and white photography the most. I am not very skilled at taking photographs, so I have never attempted to experiment with black and white film. The class for black and white photography stated that you would learn about focusing, lighting and film speed. There would be indoor and outdoor photos to take. You could bring your own camera or use one from the photography class. My friend was very interested in taking the class also, so we decided to take it together.
 
I live in a house on a lake. There have been many times when I have wished that I had the skills to take pictures of ducks or loons on the water, or to capture the waves when the wind is blowing. When we started the class we each had to write what we were most interested in accomplishing. I included taking pictures of nature and especially the lake. This class was wonderful. Not only did I learn about shadows and distances, but also about timing. I was really glad that I had the chance to use the cameras from the photography class. There were several different kinds so I could experiment with them to find what I was comfortable with. My instructor told me that I have an eye for what makes a good picture. On one of our field trips I captured a great picture of a pelican on the water. It was a cloudy day so the lighting on the water using the black and white film was perfect. The bright white of the pelican against the gray water and sky was fantastic. I had an enlargement done of the photo and have it hanging in our living room. I am so glad that I took the risk to learn black and white photography.

Tips On Adoption

Adopt A Child

My husband and I were blessed with the miracle of having a daughter. We were
thrilled from the very first moment that we discovered that we were
pregnant and she still continues to amaze us. Our very best friends cried
when we said that we were having a baby. Unbeknownst to us, they had been
trying for two years to get pregnant and had been unsuccessful. Once they
revealed their lack of pregnancy woes, we all cried together. They then
decided that they had
spent entirely too much money on trying to get pregnant.
Another year later, they added it all up and discovered that the funds
that they had spent could have been better used to adopt a child and pay all the fees.

My husband was adopted as a child. At the age of seven, he entered into a
very loving family and because that family wanted to adopt a child, he had
the chance to succeed in life. Had they not wanted to adopt a child, he may have
turned out to be a very different person. At our baby’s first birthday party,
they stayed to help us clean up. We began the conversation about adoption and
by the time they left, they had decided to look into bringing foster children
into their lives with the hope of being able to adopt a child. Two months later,
they found themselves with a little boy in their household. They had no idea
if his stay would be for a day or for a year. He won over their hearts and
ever so quickly, they found themselves catering to his every need. They
began to cling to hope that he would become a permanent part of their family.

A year later, that little boy was still in their household. They had also
brought a little girl into the family as well, and their hopes of being
able to adopt a child were simply soaring. Their caseworker informed them that
the adoption process could be started very soon and they knew that they
could finally make that child’s presence in their lives permanent. It is six
months later and their adoption is about to be finalized. They will have the son
that they have always longed for. They’re hoping to be able to call the little
girl a part of their family soon as well.

The choice to adopt a child is one of the best and most selfless decisions
that you can ever make. A lot of people have problems with the concept of adoption; they don’t want a child that doesn’t have their blood flowing within them. My thoughts on that? Just because you can give birth to a child or create a child doesn’t mean that you are able to be a parent. Just take a look at all of the children being shuffled from household to household because their parents weren’t able to be a parent to them. Your decision to adopt a child and being able to love and nurture a child goes beyond simply being able to say that you created a child. When you adopt a child, you give that child a chance to have a normal life. My husband was living on the streets before that family made the decision to adopt a child. I cringe when I think about where he may be today. If you choose to adopt a child, you bring an innocent human into your life that doesn’t have a lot of hope. Giving them love, hope and creating a lifetime of
memories for them – that goes way behind simply being able to give birth
to a child. That is the true meaning of being a parent.

Finally, aerobic exercise is fantastic for clearing your mind. It allows you to focus and unwind all at once, relieving stress by producing endorphins, which gives you a mild feeling of euphoria.

How should one introduce aerobic exercise into their routine? The answer is slowly. Starting an intensive aerobic routine suddenly will cause major muscle pain, and exhaust you. If you are not an active person, start by introducing aerobic background activity into your daily routine. This can be as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or parking at the back of the parking lot. Once you can complete these tasks without being winded, start by walking on a daily basis for twenty or thirty minutes at a brisk pace.

There are other ways of doing aerobic exercise that don’t involve
walking or running, though. Riding your bike, dancing, swimming and
playing certain sports also qualify. Have fun, and use variety to keep
your exercise from becoming dull. If you have a gym membership,
take advantage of the variety of aerobic machines you can exercise on.
Aside from a treadmill or stationary bike, there are also elliptical
machines, stairmasters, and gazelle machines that will work out your
body in different ways while elevating your heart rate and making you sweat.

Aerobic exercise is a tried and true form of physical activity that
can get you into shape in a hurry. It helps improve heart health,
keeps your mind clear, and keeps you feeling good. You can ease into
an aerobic program, and once you’re in the groove of things,
there are a wide variety of activities that you can participate in.
