Skin is the protective layer of your body which needs more care to be taken to keep them healthy. Skin appears younger and radiant as it acquire the needful nutrients from the food we intake. Skin becomes dry forming wrinkles when it loses its elasticity leaving off the muscle tone slacken off. Skin care creams and natural skin care home remedies also work but they keep the skin protected with nourishment externally only for a limited period of time.

The main factor that determines the appearance of the skin is the food we eat. Our eating habits gets reflected on the skin health, so altering the diet with the foods good for skin is more important.

Food to avoid

Foods that trigger aging process are high sugar contained in eatables and more fatty food stuff. The sugar substances taken in your diet gets attached to the proteins forming advanced glycation endproducts (AGE’s). This process initiates more cell oxidation and inflammation that makes the collagen and elastin fiber bonds harder reducing the elasticity of the muscles and the skin.

The food alone is not responsible to age your skin but also your cooking methods also contribute to the skin aging symptoms. Dry frying of food, excess processing, dry heating like grilling, broiling and microwave cooking that takes off all the moist content in the food, adding too much of spicy stuff, oils, sugar, salt and fat are some of the ones that contribute to early aging of skin. High carbs, excessive salt intake in foods, low fat diet lacking essential fatty acids also makes the skin dried and dull.

Ways to change your diet

Replacing the above with steamed, full boiled or half boiled vegetables, heated and food cooked with less oil, spice and preservatives helps to keep off early aging. Foods that are too much processed are to be avoided and also hydrogenated oils are to be kept off from ones diet. More junks foods, fast foods and prepacked eatables can be replaced by healthy fresh fruits and vegetable salads.  

Foods that are nutritive and natural for skin are to be taken to improve more skin health. Foods substances rich in antioxidants and omega3 fatty acids are more appreciable for skin health that rejuvenates and nourishes the skin with needful moist. Choosing the best food for your skin type is important; more citrus fruits, green leafy vegetables, fish especially salmon and tune, avocado, berries, lean meats, whole grains and whole meal cereals, nuts, Soya milk, watermelon, broccoli, banana, food with soluble fibers and proteins are appreciable.
