Summer is the time to get out and get back into shape. Many people will be joining a gyms and starting all sorts of exercise programs. From running, to biking and everything in between. Many weekend worriers are going to over do it and hurt themselves by pulling a muscle or straining themselves. This does not have to happen if we can follow some simple rules. Warm up, Cool Down and drink lots of water.

Cooling down is just what the gut instinct says is right. There is no scientific research that has gone into it. No one even knows what exactly a cool down is supposed to consist of. Some people say that you just need to continue doing the same thing you were doing, only more slowly. If you are running, you need to jog, and then you need to walk before you stop. Some fitness magazines have exercise tips that recommend that you are to always include stretching exercises in your cool down.
